Hackers can hijack SMS codes, many times by social engineering with a carrier call, in order to authenticate as you. The top four US mobile carriers today announced a newly formed coalition called the Mobile Authentication Taskforce to take a look at the current system and its weaknesses, and devise something new in its place.
