Tonight we're joined by Becky Worley to talk about all the trending tech news...and when we say ""trending tech news"" we mean the tech news that we think is important, that we like, or that we think you will like. It's not an algorithm. It's us. First, we discuss Amazon's foray into video. Will it kill YouTube? Is it good for creators? In other Amazon news, blind and visually impaired booklovers can now use the accessibility feature VoiceView on the Kindle Paperwhite. The feature has already been available on Kindle Fire Tablets, but for $140 dollars you can purchase the Kindle Paperwhite Blind and Visually Impaired Readers Bundle that includes the Kindle Paperwhite with Wi-Fi, the Kindle Audio Adapter, and a $20 gift card. Next, we explore continuing saga of the Facebook Trending News kerfuffle. The US Senate Commerce Committee wasted no time in opening an inquiry into the allegations that staffers actively censored stories posted by conservative news outlets. We also discuss a new app that crowd-sources local news and newly discovered exoplanets. Lyz Lenz from The Daily Dot explores why her Facebook posts about her work never get as many likes as her Facebook posts about her kids. And finally, Becky offers tips and questions about reducing your monthly smart phone bill.
